About the Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice is intended for those who access the sarahbrinkworth.co.uk website or use the services I, Sarah Brinkworth, provide through my company Sprouting Sprogs Ltd.  I recognise the importance that you place on your personal data and I am committed to making sure it is appropriately managed and protected. 

This notice complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.

To provide my support effectively and safely in accordance with our agreement for services, I will need to request personal and sensitive information from you. This information is collected via consultations and through any correspondence you have with me via email or telephone.    In accordance with General Data Protection Regulation 2018 (GDPR), I am required to inform you about the information I collect and hold about you, what I do with your information, how I look after it, who I might share it with and what your rights are in relation to that data.   

 

I will be the data controller solely responsible for your privacy.

The Data I hold, may include:

  • name, address, telephone number, email

  • date of birth, ethnicity and religion, marital status, the language that you speak

  • child's name, date of  birth and medical history

  • medical history (including obstetric and breastfeeding history)

  • consultation notes including plans 

  • GP details

I will only request information from you that I need in order to provide my services to you for legal, contractual and legitimate reasons.

Processing your information

Myself, Sarah Brinkworth

I require your data in order to provide my services safely and effectively.  I may with your consent, need to share your data with other health care professionals for the purpose of improving outcomes in relation to the reason for the consultation. 

 

In the event of a complaint or legal proceedings, the records may be shared with my indemnifiers and / or legal advisors. 

 

I will not share your personal information with any third parties without your consent, unless it is a matter of patient safety, safeguarding or public protection. 

I will never sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties.

I do not require you to submit your personal or sensitive information via my website sarahbrinkworth.co.uk.  My website does however, offer a publicly accessible blog.  Please be aware that any personal info you provide in this area may be read, collected and used by others who access my site. 

 

Wix.com hosts my website and may log technical information about the way you interact with it to help gain an understanding of how my website is used generally by people that visit it.  For more detail about the information that wix.com collects when you visit my website, please refer to their privacy statement and also see my cookie policy.

 

Microsoft 

Microsoft acts as a data processor on my behalf as all of my business activities are carried out remotely and securely on their  Microsoft 365 software suite (including email, file storage and video conferencing).  Microsoft 365 incorporates a range of tools and protections to ensure GDPR compliance including 2 factor authentication and encryption. 

 

Your virtual consultation will take place using Microsoft teams.  A secure link will be emailed to you prior to your appointment.  Please note that I do not record virtual consultations. 

Storage of your information 

 

Any personal details which you send via email or share with me as part of a consultation will be stored securely and remotely on Microsoft OneDrive.  I will not store your personal information on my own computer or other devices.  All of your data will be kept within the United Kingdom. 

 

I will retain your consultation data for a period of 25 years as required for legal and insurance purposes. 

Access to Information

You have the right to request access to any data that I hold relating to you and be provided with that data free of charge and within a month of your request.  You also have the right to correct, amend or delete your personal information (where appropriate).  

I will accept the following forms of ID when information on your personal data is requested: a copy of your driving licence, passport, birth certificate and a utility bill not older than 3 months.  A minimum of one piece of photographic ID listed above and a supporting document is required. Further information may be sought before personal data can be released.  All requests should be made to sarah@sarahbrinkworth.co.uk.

My site contains links to other websites.  Please be aware that I am not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these websites.  I encourage you to be aware when you leave my site and to read the privacy statements of other websites you visit before providing your personal information.  

Where I have a presence on social media platforms (Facebook, instagram, etc) I have no control over how your privacy is managed when you visit these sites. 

Marketing my services

I will never distribute marketing information about myself directly to you unless you request it.   I will only contact you in order to follow up an enquiry or respond to a specific request from you. 

Changes to this privacy notice

I may change this privacy notice from time to time.  This may be necessary if the law changes or if I change my business in a way that affects personal data protection. 

Any changes will be immediately posted on my site and you will be deemed to have accepted the terms of the privacy notice on your first use of my site following the alterations.  This policy was last updated on 30th November 2020.

If you choose to proceed with a consultation, I will ask that you read and acknowledge this privacy notice, as part of agreeing to my terms and conditions of business.
